Many of our guests simply come here
to relax and chill out by the pool after some arduous traveling into the
heart of Darkest Borneo. But if you get tired of simply relaxing, there are
plenty of things to do.
Sarawak Cultural
Village – just 20 minutes
walk away, this award-winning ‘living museum’ showcases the
very best of Sarawak’s traditional
cultures.
Damai Golf Club – this 18 hole course, designed by Arnold Palmer, is
open to non members and offers one of the most enjoyable and scenic golf
challenges in Malaysia.
Dolphin & Mangrove Tour – search for rare Irrawaddy dolphins,
bizarre proboscis monkeys and huge estuarine crocodiles around the mangrove
forests of Sarawak’s coast.
Kuching – just 40 minutes away, Southeast Asia’s
most charming city is a must-see for every visitor.
Jungle Trekking – our privately marked jungle trail leads from the
back of the house to meet up with the main trail to the peak of Mount
Santubong. Hard work but worth it for the superb rainforest and the
fantastic views.
Beachcombing – relax on the nearby beach (10 mins walk) or take in
the seaside bustle of Damai, just 20 minutes walk away.
Massage & Therapy – spend a relaxing half day at the Spas in
nearby Damai Beach Resort or Damai Puri Spa & Resort, and enjoy
traditional Sarawak massage and healing
therapies.
Yoga – Polycarp is a registered Yoga Alliance teacher. Join him for
an hour or two of self-discovery and relaxation
National Parks and Nature Reserves – trek with the proboscis monkeys
at Bako, or meet the orang utan at Semengoh. Five national parks and nature
reserves are within two hours of Nanga Damai.
Hash House Harriers – we are active members of the Kuching Hash, the
third oldest in the world. Feel free to join us as we crash through the
jungle, cursing loudly about all the lovely thorns, mud and insect bites,
and get together for food and beer afterwards.
