Points To Remember
As
we are a private family home as well as a bed and breakfast homestay, there
are naturally a few special requests that we need to make of our guests.
Guest Fitness
Guests intending to take advantage of the surrounding attractions should
bear in mind that there is no public transport, and that taxis must be
booked in advance. We will be pleased to drop you off around the area when
we are free, but you may well have to walk modest distances, so reasonable
fitness is required. In addition, the Mount Santubong Trek requires above
average fitness. Of course, if you simply want to lounge by the pool during
your stay, please disregard the above.
Families
With Children
We are unable to accept guests with children under 14 years old. It’s
not that we don’t like kids, just that we have an unattended swimming
pool, steep staircases, rugged rock features in the garden and slippery
slopes leading to the adjacent rainforest. Therefore we simply cannot
accept any liability for young children.
Halal
Food
We are unable to provide halal food in our kitchen, and we also serve
alcohol. There is a halal Muslim seafood restaurant (Dayang Seafood) 5 minutes
walk from Nanga Damai.
Family
Pets
We currently have three pet dogs, Betty, Oscar and Ben, all friendly and
well-behaved Borneo hunting dogs. If you
are not happy with dogs around the place, you might need to look somewhere
else. For your information, the dogs are not allowed in the house or any
guest accommodation area – please don’t encourage them to do
otherwise.
Length
Of Stay
We have a minimum two nights stay policy.
Room
Occupancy
Guests are limited to two occupants per room - we do not allow multiple
occupancy or provide additional beds. Our normal check-out time is 11.00
am, however we are usually flexible about check out times if your room is
not needed by another guest.
Payment
Terms
All payment terms for accommodation, food and beverage, use of phone etc
are cash. We do not accept
credit cards. If you wish to pay in foreign currency (USD, GBP, EURO, YEN,
AUD, HKD, SGD) we will charge the prevailing bank buying rate plus a
handling fee of 5%. We do not accept low-denomination notes in any currency
as these are difficult to exchange later. Please note there are no ATM
facilities in the area.
